Before weight loss surgery I was overweight, very fatigued all the time had PCOS and endometriosis that caused me daily pain. I couldn’t enjoy life with my kids because my workday took everything out of me. When I had a hysterectomy I thought my weight would magically fall off because I wouldn’t have to deal with the pain nor have insulin resistance due to the PCOS. The weight was almost harder to lose and I now had thyroid issues and severe anxiety.
I had always thought about it in the back of my mind because I used to be a surgical technician who scrubbed these surgeries 3-4 days a week for 10 years. I also knew I needed to lose weight in order to get my PCOS in control. After having my hysterectomy and still struggling to lose weight and more
stories of my family members having back issues and being overweight, I knew I wanted to be present for my family and that made me realize I needed to take the next step!
Phenomenal ???????????? I already knew I loved Dr. Stowers because I worked with him in the operating room, but the entire office staff is like added family. From start to finish and now 2 years post -op it’s been a breeze to work with everyone!
Life after weight loss surgery is amazing. My husband and I knew we always wanted to grow our family but because of my early hysterectomy due to daily pain from PCOS and endometriosis, having more biological kids just wasn’t in our cards. So, we decided to sign up to be foster parents, just a few short months after weight loss surgery. We accepted our first placements in April 2021, almost one year post-op, and now, 2 years post-op, we have adopted our twin girls! Life is very busy, we call it “Our beautiful chaos.” There is no doubt in my mind that having weight loss surgery was the best decision I’ve ever made for my family and myself. Before there was no way I could keep up with twins, now I chase them around and still have more energy for our 12 year old and his busy sports schedule and my husband’s growing business.
